Govt. of Gujarat introduce a new scheme for the people of Gujarat living under the poverty line named “MUKHYA MANTRI AMRUTAM (MA) YOGENA” in 4/9/2012.
Whole purpose of the scheme is to provide easy and cashless medical treatment benefits to the family living under the poverty line.
Government also increased schemes benefits from lower class to middle class family (of 6 max.) by introducing the another scheme named “MA VATSALYA” in 15/8/2014 . In this scheme family having yearly income less than 4 lacs, get benefits of the cashless medical treatment.
In these scheme, Maximum 5 lacs of cashless medical treatment is provide to the family in govt./private hospital and diagnosis center.
1807 types of different primary, secondary and tersely medical treatment has been covered in these scheme.
Purpose
Main and sole purpose of this scheme is to provide the high quality and cashless medical treatment benefits to the lower and middle class family so that they can easily get the treatment from the government or from any privet hospital and it will not turn into the financial burden on the earning.
Benefits
Lower class family will get free medical treatment up to 5 lacs. Per year
Middle class family earning lower than 4 lacs per annum, will get cashless benefits as “MA card holders”.
Approved generalist will also get benefits of these scheme.
Fix salaried person of class 3 & 4, who are directly employed in any state government institute will get benefits of these scheme.
U-WIN card holder will get benefits of these scheme.
Senior citizen earning lower than 6 lacs per annum will also get benefits of these scheme.
Last but not the least, ASHA worker employed in City or in rural area will also get indirect benefits of these scheme.
How to …
In these scheme, MA and MA VATSALYA card has been issued to the family including photo of every member and the thumb impression.
Also QR code has been deployed to the card for the easy identification.
Purpose of issuing this card is to prevent the false registration of the family.
To extent the use of these card to the maximum family, Kiosk center has been developed at every tehsil and civic center. Also mobile kiosk has been used to provide cards to the rural and remaining family areas.
It is compulsory to have the MA and MA VATSALYA card to get the benefits of these scheme. And for that income proof stating income of 4 lacs and below, has to be obtained from the authority mentioned below.

- Dy. Collectors, / Dy. District Development Officer,
- Regional officer,
- Tehsil mamaladar, / City mamaladar, / Dy. Mamaladar.
- Tehsil development officer
Basics
Hospital Registration, consultation, treatment, report for treatment, medical bills, surgery, after surgery treatment, hospitalization charge, bed charge, food bills on, transportation charges, follow up charges of doctor’s. All these things are included in these scheme.
All the charges said above will directly deposited to the hospital by the state government.
Hence, any member of the family can directly get benefits of the scheme by simply going to the hospital having card.
Also, they will get benefits of Rs. 300/- for transportation to the hospital.
Card holder can get additional benefits of 10% quality incentive other than MA card if, the hospital having certificate of NABH/JCI/ACHS or any other accreditation body approved by International society for Quality in Health-care.
To extend the use of these scheme, govt. has planned health camps, Mega health camps for the awareness of these scheme, and govt. also marketed scheme by placing hording on roads and buses, advertising in TV, Radio and news papers.

All ASHA worker ladies will get 100/- Rs. For the form fill-up of family as incentive.
Also, Rs. 2 per form has been provided to all ASHA / LINK / USHA workers as a part of the promotion.
And free consultation has been provided to all govt. Institute for any query regarding scheme.
